The 2012 MotoGP Season Review is a comprehensive look at the first season of the 1000cc class, bringing you highlights from the opening race under the floodlights in Qatar through to the traditional finale in Valencia. 2012 saw Yamaha Factory Racing’s Spaniard Jorge Lorenzo take his second premier-class crown after putting in one of the most consistent seasons in recent history, although he had his work cut out with Repsol Honda Team’s Dani Pedrosa and Casey Stoner, with the latter signing off before his retirement with a stunning ride at his home race in Phillip Island. It was also the first season of the new CRT class, which saw Power Electronics Aspar’s Aleix Espargaró take the inaugural crown.
